The Kitchen Restaurant is laid out over three floors and housed in modern, architect designed building located on the banks of the River Ness. We are an independent family run restaurant and we aim to deliver excellent Scottish produce and friendly highland service. We look forward to welcoming locals and visitors to the restaurant.

Booking and cancellation policy

The Kitchen Restaurant is a small independent run business, and we really appreciate every guest who dines with us.

Due to the number of no shows and late cancelations we have received over the last two years; we have made a decision to implement a cancellation policy. Unfortunately this is necessary as no shows greatly impacts the business .

When booking online via Quandoo you will have to read and accept our cancellation policy before your booking is confirmed.

Card details are secured safely by Quandoo and only charged if we do not receive 24 hours’ notice to cancel or a failure to show up. You will receive confirmation and reminder emails from Quandoo. You can cancel via quandoo, email us or call us before the notice period.

We do respect that some customers may not want to agree to this policy and therefore guests are free to turn up on the night to see if we have tables available (we do always recommend to book as it gets very busy in the summer months).

Your booking will automatically incur a cancellation fee that is noted when confirming the booking if we do not receive 24 hours’ notice of cancellation or failure to show up.

By making a reservation at The Kitchen Restaurant you agree to our reservation and cancellation terms.

We wish to thank you for your understanding and look forward to welcoming you at The Kitchen Restaurant.

We are opened lunch and dinner on Tuesday the 23rd of April and closed on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th April.

Brilliant service and value for money lunch. Worth booking ahead to get a window seat.

Incredibly good food greeted us here in the small town of Inverness, along with lovely waitresses and waitresses. A small menu with excellent dishes: everything was great. The fishcake was superb, the sweet potato soup was velvety and the main courses (lamb with a sensational peas/bacon/mashed potato side dish with the hottest sauce ever and game, also very, very good) were delicious to lick. The desserts were fantastic and even the espresso was as good as in Italy… Inverness has a restaurant that can easily compete with, if not even overtake, the best restaurants in Düsseldorf. Definitely go!!!

A wonderful meal and we can’t wait until we visit Inverness again because we will definitely be visiting The Kitchen Brasserie. It is so lovely to have a choice of gluten free dishes – can’t recommend highly enough!

The food was some of the best I have ever eaten. I had the lamb and my partner had the venison and both were cooked to perfection. The balance of flavours was spot on. The cheese board was excellent and the cheeses were in perfect condition and dessert was delicious. Staff were friendly and not overbearing.

Incredible food, and they were able to get us in before our reservation which was great. The venison loin I had was beyond tender, and the lamb rump my wife had surpassed her expectations. Great accompaniments, good drink selection. The broccoli with yogurt sauce was a great additional side. Bread and soup were both good. The dessert of Dark Matter spiced rum cake was beyond delicious. We will be back!
