Beautiful. Great location, beautiful views of the river from the huge glass windows. Food excellent quality and well cooked. My sea bass wrapped in parma ham was perfect. I just wish the skin of the sea bass had been removed before the Parma ham was wrapped round it. Very warm and friendly service a really lovely restaurant.

Dine with a view. Right on the banks of the Ness. Managed ( only just) to walk in, without a reservation for the popular early evening menu. Fabulous food, friendly staff. Enjoy!
Great value for great lunch! Not only does the Kitchen have the best views in Inverness…
Great value for great lunch! Not only does the Kitchen have the best views in Inverness, it also provides consistently good food, great service, friendly atmosphere and great value for money. Today's lunch was no exception. The Smoked Haddock Gratin was absolutely delicious and followed by the Beef and Smoked Bacon Pie which was one of the best I have had in some time. The house wines are always good but today I tried one of the 'special' wines - superb! I was unfortunately too full to attempt a dessert! As always, it was great value for money and is the reason why it is always full. The staff here always make you feel welcome and provide a quick and friendly service. A definite recommendation.
Top Class! Visited The Kitchen with my partner…
Top Class! Visited The Kitchen with my partner, we were staying over in Inverness for the night. The food was lovely, it had a beautiful view looking out onto the river and the bridge was lit up. The staff were really friendly and the price was reasonable. I thought I had gone to heaven when I tasted the Creme Brûlée, amazing! If ever in Inverness again I will be visiting The Kitchen
Stunning! Just back from Inverness today. Went too The Kitchen…
Stunning! Just back from Inverness today. Went too The Kitchen on Mon for Lunch. We were absolutely delighted by the welcome , service and of course the quality of the fare . We were also seated on the second floor with a stunning view of the River Ness. If you go up to Inverness then you must visit Lee and his fantastic team for an unmissable treat in the capital of the Highlands.
Lovely site, lovely food.…
Lovely site, lovely food. We eat in this restaurant quite a lot. Mainly we go for the early evening menu which is good value at about £10 for two courses. There is a good choice on the menu and the food is lovely. The staff are very friendly and the service is good. The restaurant itself overlooks the river and is glass fronted. It is nice to sit with a glass of wine and good food watching the world go by. The dinner menu is larger but more expensive though still good value as the food is guaranteed to be lovely.

Had a fantastic meal and a beautiful view over the river from our table. Food was exquisite, a rather lovely Rose Pinot Grigio as well on the wine list - our waitress did yawn when she took our order but perhaps it was lack of oxygen after climbing the stairs to the 3rd floor with our food.
Service was brilliant! One of the male managers was so accommodating, he really made us laugh.…
Service was brilliant! One of the male managers was so accommodating, he really made us laugh. The food was good, and its worth while going for the prix fixe menu. The location is brilliant and we would return if we were in the area.
Good and lovely view over the River Ness. Luckily we managed to get a table…
Good and lovely view over the River Ness. Luckily we managed to get a table as we had not booked, we waited 5 minutes for them to sort a table out and we were so pleased we did. The food, service and atmosphere was great. We sat up stairs and had a fab view of the River and all the goings on outside. My husband had the seafood and I had chicken, very well presented and hot. Would of liked more vegetables but we id not asked for more, so that was our mistake. Will go back again and will book. We visit Inverness a lot as we have family up here, we stay at the Columba and eat with our family at their home but always go out at least twice during our stay. This was a good choice.
Great service, great view.…
Great service, great view. This restaurant is stretched out vertically over 3 floors, and we had the lucky chance to get a table on the top. Lovely views out to the river, bridges, and the city hall castle. The food was great and service was attentive without being bothersome. Starters were generous and mains excellent.

Value for money. Recently had a fabulous lunch deal in the Kitchen. The menu was of a very high standard as well as the quality of food. Was disappointed we could not eat dinner as they were fully booked when we visited.

Good quality real food. Took advantage of the lunch menu offer which you even get on a Saturday. Starters and mains were all of a high standard, tasty and piping hot. Can't wait for next visit.

Great waterside restaurant. The menu is filled with delicious mouthwatering food at good prices. It's sister restaurant, The Mustard Seed, on the other side of the river offers additional choices Top spot!

Lovely, as usual! I eat here when I'm in Inverness because the service is great, the location is wonderful and the food is always really good. At lunchtime you can get a very good deal and early evenings are reasonable too, but this time I was a little late and arrived at 7.30 and had to pay the full evening meal price. A super place to eat, especially if you arrive at the right time!

Well Worth a Visit. Beautiful food, well presented. Staff very welcoming. This restaurant faces onto the river which has stunning views of the bridges and city lit up at night.

Lived up to its reputation. The staff were very warm and friendly and flexible moving tables to suit the different sizes of parties wishing to eat. We were give a table for two and the food was excellent. The restaurant prides itself on its cooking and it certainly lived up to its reputation.
Smoked fish to die for!…
Smoked fish to die for! My friend and I ordered the smoked fish platter to start with (cold and hot smoked salmon and white fish), which was definitely the highlight of the meal - absolutely amazing! We then had the duck, which was good and the chicken stuffed with haggis - also good. We finished with the best cheesecake I've ever had - very nice and airy with banoffee. Definitely a great place with a lovely ambiance.

Wow! We would often look across the river from our hotel at a place that looked interesting and was always full. On the last day thought we'd try a place our hotel suggested for lunch, only to find out it was this place. We got the 6.95 starter and main and were both VERY impressed with the food, I was very impressed with the bill! Has a great view of the river and the staff were friendly. We would certainly recommend it. Its not a big place, and spread over a few floors, we went with a 1yr old, they had baby seat and we just left the pram down stairs to diner upstairs.
Dinner sorted. The Kitchen was recommended by the Daviot Lodge…
Dinner sorted. The Kitchen was recommended (along with The Mustard Seed(same owners) by the Daviot Lodge. We received a complimentary glass of wine (on receipt of a slip from Daviot Lodge). We were not disappointed. Food & service were very good and we had chosen off the early dinner menu at £10.95 each for a starter & main course. We both chose the shredded chicken to start and the rump steak as our main. Everything was excellent, we even managed a dessert as it all looked so good. We were on the 2nd floor of the restaurant and I enjoyed watching the chefs preparing the meals as I could see down into the kitchen. They never stopped. We have been in many other establishments and paid much more than £40 for 2 people for a 3 course meal with drinks. We would certainly recommend The Kitchen (maybe try The Mustard Seed next time we are in Inverness)
Excellent lunch menu in great location.…
Excellent lunch menu in great location. This restaurant is on 3 floors with a glass frontage and overlooks the River Ness. Soup was delicious, as was the crusty bread served with it. I enjoyed the haddock and leek pie with pastry, served with jacket potatoes, and vegetables, all cooked perfect. Great value for money as the 2 course lunch was £6.95.
The Kitchen is a lovely restaurant on the banks of the River Ness, in the Highland capital of Inverness…
The Kitchen is a lovely restaurant on the banks of the River Ness, in the Highland capital of Inverness. It is on 3 floors with perfect views with a lot of the seats having superb views to the River and the Castle. The menu is varied. The lunch time menu is £6.95 for 2 courses and Early Evening Meal for 2 courses is, I think £10.95. The fact that the price is very good value, it certainly does not affect the quality or the quantity of food. They are all good portions and delicious produce, a lot of it locally produced.
We have eaten regularly for several years at the Kitchen and its sister restaurant the Mustard Seed. We have always had brilliant, friendly service and the food has always been out of this world.
Would highly recommend a visit....ask for the loyalty card if you go. Its well worth it for every visit you can have it stamped and get free coffee, deserts, meals, depending on amount of stamps you have.
It is very convenient restaurant for Eden Court Theatre. Just a five minute walk and a 5 minute walk from the High Street in Inverness.
Stopped here for lunch as it looked nice over the 3 levels overlooking the river…
Stopped here for lunch as it looked nice over the 3 levels overlooking the river and also advertises a 2 course lunch for £6.95 ! For such excellent value I must admit my cynical head was on as we went in ....but what a treat ,the food was fantastic, the service was fantastic, the price was fantastic..all in a lovely setting. Just a wee warning though...there is a price to pay for liking their house red too much..our final bill came to £43..my fault though as this was mostly my alcohol...OOPS!

The food was very good, as was the service and the views are great even in the rain. The wine list was good and included 6 by the glass options which is good to see. The staff coped really well with an extremely busy lunchtime service, many customers coming in without a reservation, ourselves included.
Great lunch menu. Back for the third time…
Great lunch menu. Back for the third time, second time for lunch and it was as good as we remembered. They have a great lunch time deal - 2 courses for £7 with a good selection (5-6 starters and mains) some of which have a small supplement.

Birthday treat. Back again because this place is just so good. Great food, staff, decor, music - perfect for a special meal or just a good food experience to treat yourself.
Lovely meal on a lovely evening.…
Lovely meal on a lovely evening. Phoned up at 4.30pm on Thursday 16 August and booked a table for three for 6.30pm. We were met by a very pleasant girl who took us upstairs to our table. Couldn't believe that our table was on the top floor right by the panoramic window overlooking the River Ness and Inverness Castle - what a setting. The waitresses who served us were also pleasant with ready smiles. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and nicely presented. All in all a super dining experience and would thoroughly recommend. Normally busy - both lunch time and evening so book.

A very good place to end a busy day out. The food was delicious, very well prepared and tasty and the service was kind and efficient. The nice and quiet atmosphere went well with the view over river Ness and gave us time to reflect on our lovely day around Inverness.
Yummy Food. I was at The Kitchen in Inverness on the 2nd August. The food was excellent, staff friendly and helpful especially when it came down to picking from the wonderful selection of goodies available. Will definitely be back.

Great experience! It was our best dinner in Scotland! The restaurant is very nice and with wonderful views on the river. The food was original and tasteful. I absolutely recommend it! It was not very expensive ( about 20 pounds each).

Worth a visit. If you are into seafood try the mussels as a starter in this restaurant. They come in like a large round container with a lid which is used for the empty shells. The mussels are cooked to a "T" and the garlic/wine sauce is just amazing. It has a very good choice of food on the menu. The chicken with black pudding is fabulous. The meals when they reach the table are piping hot. Very efficient and friendly staff. Would suggest that you book a table or you might not get in when you get there. Very busy and a very popular restaurant
Beautifully presented and cooked. Try the salmon on the lunch menu - just to die for…
Beautifully presented and cooked. Try the salmon on the lunch menu - just to die for, indeed all the lunch menu is fabulous and so inexpensive. The early evening meal is also first class value as indeed the evening dinner is. The staff are very pleasant, and David the manager is first class. I certainly rate it higher than excellent and recommend it to locals and visitors alike.
It's a must! This restaurant was recommended to us by our taxi driver.…
It's a must! This restaurant was recommended to us by our taxi driver. We couldn't get in on Saturday night - fully booked but we got in on Sunday. Had a table overlooking the river and the food was divine, sweet potato and butternut squash soup - gorgeous, followed by grilled fillet of salmon, new potatoes and vegetables, excellent and finished off with a strawberry tart. House red wine was delicious. The service was first class and cost us £19 each. Don't miss it.
A very pleasant meal by the river.…
A very pleasant meal by the river. Went for the early evening dinner and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food for the price. Service was very quick and efficient. Kids menu was also good value and served real food. Would certainly recommend.
Beautiful river and city view, great food too.…
Beautiful river and city view, great food too. We tried to eat at The Mustard Seed. They were booked so we asked about their other restaurant, The Kitchen. They called and got a reservation for us. Short walk over the bridge, and there we were. Sat on top level with beautiful full window view of the river and the bridge. As it stays light until @ 11 pm in Inverness in the summer, we did not get a night time view...bet that is stunning. Food was great, dessert was fabulous, service was young and casual. Couldn't have enjoyed it more.

Excellent food, excellent value. We took advantage of the early evening two courses deal and it was well worth it. Good choice of menu, food well cooked and presented. Nice atmosphere and friendly and efficient staff. If we'd had more time in Inverness I'd have booked a table for another day and taken time over a longer dinner. Definitely recommended.

Excellent value for money. Booking advised! This appears to be a very popular place. We were given a table on the first floor, overlooking the river. Lovely spot. Food was excellent, good choice to pick from. The salmon starter from their specials menu was superb. House wine was OK, they have a good stock of wine if you are willing to pay a bit more. No faults with service, they coped well with a busy restaurant.
Luxuriant Birthday treat! Had an exquisite birthday meal here…
Luxuriant Birthday treat! Had an exquisite birthday meal here on 16th of June. The view from the restaurant is wonderful and the building itself is very striking. To start I had prawn, baby onion and chorizo skewers, simply cooked but wonderful and my partner had duck plum an hoisin confit wrapped in puff pastry. I opted for the whole sea bass from the daily specials board as a main, served stuffed with potato and salmon. The fish was delicious and the whole dish prepared with care and attention to detail. The panache of seafood, with monkfish, king scallops and prawns over a tomato and curried rice salad was described by my partner as being out of this world! She was especially complimentary of the prawns, which is saying something as having lived in Spain she lived mainly on a diet of fresh seafood. For dessert we tasted the mouthwatering apple crumble and a delicious cheesecake.

Fantastic food, service and view! Made reservations based on reviews posted on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. Delicious food, great service and we were lucky enough to get a window table on the top floor. Fantastic view of the city, castle and the river. I would highly recommend.

A little gem. We went for lunch, and were more than pleasantly surprised, £6.95 for two courses. I had halibut and salmon, and could not fault it, the service was excellent, and a major bonus was local staff, I would highly recommend a visit. We are going to book for the evening meals, the menu is varied, and all of it looks a treat...Well done Inverness a pure star of a restaurant.

Favourite restaurant in Inverness. The best place to go in Inverness for excellent food and affordable prices, I came here on my 18th and 19th birthday with my family and had a great time, I wouldn't pick to go anywhere else! With great views of the river, fantastic service and yummy food, definitely my favourite! Also, the chocolate cocktail I had at the end of my meal was delicious

Lovely food great view and excellent value. The restaurant sits facing the river in the centre of town, over three floors. Although each are is small it is not too small. The food was so nice we went on Friday 6 Apr and returned on Sunday 8 April. Lunch is £6.95 for 2 courses or early evening £10.95 for 2 courses, thereafter it is a la carte. Efficient service without hurrying you and happy to provide jugs of tap water free. A very nice place overall.

Delicious food with excellent service at reasonable price. We went as a group of 15 for an early evening supper after a matinee in nearby Eden Court Theatre. Between 5 and 7 pm, there is a cheaper two-course £10.95 early evening menu which was the same as lunch menu but a steak was available for an additional fee. Serving 15 is no mean feat but the staff were right on the ball at every stage but we were never hurried and were allowed ample time to eat and chat. All of the food was cooked perfectly and served with lovely soft wholemeal bread and lots of vegetables. Fish dishes of salmon and sea bass were especially appreciated with crispy tasty skins. My take on a burger was excellent with home made pattie from first class steak and served on small slices of ciabatta. Coffee was extra but averaged £2 per cup. They also have a loyalty card to encourage you to return again and again with rewards. There is a sister restaurant called the Mustard Seed with whom they share this loyalty card.
Always great value for money and great service.…
Always great value for money and great service. I have been to this restaurant on many occasions and always been more than happy with the choice and quality of the food and the really good service. The lunch and early evening menus feature plenty of choice and are exceptional value. The dinner specials are always well cooked and presented. This will remain a regular haunt!
Fabulous lunch, best value for money in years, exceptionally well cooked. Do not miss going to this restaurant…
Fabulous lunch, best value for money in years, exceptionally well cooked. Do not miss going to this restaurant, and in particular the special lunch menu at just £6.95 for a head is spectacular. The Manager David is very attentive and the staff are first class. All in all my husband and I would give this restaurant more than top marks if this were possible.

Great food with great view. Glass fronted building located on the River Ness.…
Great food with great view. Glass fronted building located on the River Ness. Best to make a reservation. We were seated on the first floor right near the door. When I said I would prefer a better location with a view the staff said as soon as another table became available we could move. Within 10 minutes they had us seated on the 3rd floor (no elevators but not steep flights). View was awesome. The food was fresh and delicious and the people we were seated next to were locals who were delightful to talk with. Shared dessert with them and then walked back to our hotel. Really nice evening, reasonable cost, great service and value. Don't miss it!!!
